Topic/Skill: We discussed what we did the last week and our plans for the weekend, and then we covered simple future and future continuous tense verbs. I had her practice coming up with her own example sentences and answering a few questions in both of the tenses. They can be difficult to understand since both are often used interchangeably by native speakers to mean the same thing (e.g. "I will make breakfast this morning," vs "I will be making breakfast this morning.")
We did a listening activity where I had her watch a video an fill in a script for what the characters were saying. I made a similar mistake to my mock class activity this week and chose a video that was too challenging, so I'll have to be careful to find level-appropriate material from now on.
Finally, we practiced common pronunciation mistakes Spanish speakers make when learning English, such as dropping the consonant at the end of words, pronouncing M as N at the end of words, and pronouncing Z as S.
I think I'll continue pronunciation practice next week, decoding skills, and potentially definite/indefinite articles.
