Topic/Skill: We did a warm-up activity where he had to write down as many vocab words related to a theme as possible in 6 minutes. They were supposed to start with each letter of the alphabet, but I didn't communicate that part well (that's on me). Still, I think it went ok. We only had time to got over a matching vocab activity using definitions and pictures. We ran out of time for the practice questions using the words. Then, we did a fill-in-the-blank listening activity with some of the vocab. There were technical issues with the recording, so I just read it aloud myself (probably should've just done that from the start, because it's a lot more flexibly than a recording). I had comprehension and discussion questions planned, but we ran out of time.

What I learned: I've gotten better at handling technical issue on the fly, and I think he feels more comfortable telling me when he doesn't understand something but it's still hard to know at times. I've been providing more linguistic support. And we may need to pick up the activity where we left off next time.
