Topic: Prepositions

Summary: In this session, we worked on the following prepositions: beneath, prior to, regarding, excluding, against, towards, between, amid, since, and via. She was only unfamiliar with beneath and amid, but as she was working on the sentences she realized it was harder than she thought. She told me that she is used to doing easier activities like fill in the blank and that it was a challenge for her to create the sentences from scratch. She also told me that for a lot of the words she understood the broad definition, but did not understand how to use them in a sentence. I am happy I finally found something that she tries hard in and is able to put her skills to! We worked on the first five, I had her write sentences for each one and worked on her explanation for them. After that, we decided to work on the second five on Friday so she can take time to process the first five that we covered.

Lessons Learned: Prepositions can be a little tricky to explain, but it is a good subject to expand on for further advanced English sentence creation. Without prepositions it is much more difficult to create good and complex sentences and it will be something to continue developing.
